Check out the content below to see how members of our community and other universities are incorporating safe and sustainable lab practices.
- University of Maryland Baltimore has a lab share program that allows labs with extra supplies or equipment they would like to share to help other labs in need. This prevents unnecessary waste and purchasing!
- MIT's Department of Environmental Health Safety has compiled resources for practicing green chemistry and finding alternatives to hazardous chemicals.
- Stanford promotes ultra low temperature (ULT) freezer maintenance by allowing labs that complete certain tasks that expand the lifespan of cold storage equipment to earn points towards a "My Cardinal Green" certification. They have compiled a list of resources for ULT freezer maintenance.
- The Lab Efficiency Action Program (LEAP) at the University of North Texas provides a freezer defrost kit and a freezer available for sample storage during freezer cleaning and defrosting.
