This year’s Showcase will be hosted in the Healthy Kentucky Research Building on Wednesday, October 15th from 5:30-7:30pm. The event is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
The Showcase is a celebration of the incredible sustainability work happening across campus - from research and student initiatives to operations and community engagement. Graduate and undergraduate students are invited to submit an abstract and poster in a new sustainability research poster competition held in conjunction with the annual UK Sustainability Showcase on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 5:30-7:30pm.
UK Sustainability and the Office of Undergraduate Research are partnering to offer an opportunity for students in all majors to submit their sustainability-related research as a poster for a general audience. Judges with relevant expertise will review all posters and winners will be selected for both undergraduate and graduate categories.

This award, named for retired political science professor Ernie Yanarella, and retired college of design faculty member Richard Levine—both pioneers and life-long champions and scholars of sustainability—is intended to recognize members of the UK Community who have contributed a tremendous body of work supporting a legacy of sustainability at the University of Kentucky and beyond.
